Description
I’m gonna leave the interpretation of this one up to you. The process, however…
I took a rough canvas, something I’d used for a dropcloth for other pieces, and glued down kale seed awns I’d saved from a previous year’s garden. I then put down a spiral of glue, sprinkled it with sawdust, and let everything dry. After it was dry enough, I added a piece of doorscreen. I then gessoed everything except the sawdust, trying to further cement the awns and screen in place (they didn’t want to stay). Then I squirted the yellow paint on the canvas, and, more or less, let piece color itself.
It’s weird.
It’s also better in person.
16″ x 20″ acrylic and other media on canvas.
